ISC’06
The Industrial Simulation
Conference 2006 (ISC-2006) aims to give a complete overview of industrial
simulation related research and
to provide an annual status report on present day industrial simulation research
within the European Community and the rest of the world. The exchange of
techniques and ideas among the different disciplines, universities and industry,
which support the integration of simulation in the everyday workplace, is the
basic premise at the heart of ISC'06.
ISC'06 is sponsored by the EUROSIS (The European Multidisciplinary Society for
Modeling and Simulation Technology), and is hosted by the University of Palermo,
Palermo, Italy.
Multi-Agent Systems and Simulation (MAS&S)
Multi-agent systems (MAS)
provide powerful models for representing real-world environments with an
appropriate degree of complexity and dynamism. Several industrial experiences
have already shown that the use of MAS offers advantages in manufacturing
processes, e-Commerce, and network management. Since MAS in such contexts are to
be tested before their actual deployment
and execution, methodologies that support validation through simulation of the
MAS under development are highly required. In fact, MAS simulation cannot only
demonstrate that a MAS correctly behaves according to its specifications but can
also support the analysis of emergent properties of the MAS under-test.
In this special track we are interested in the combined issues of multi-agent
systems and simulation particularly in the context of
Agent Oriented Software Engineering (AOSE).
